It's the Most WONDERFUL time of the year!

We are getting into the festive spirit here at camp, with the taste testing of sweets for Santa....
And trimming the tree in the magic triangle.

And as this holiday season approaches, we do hope you are all thinking of camp! And we think we have something that just might help you get extra excited about coming to camp.

That is right, THE NEW DVD IS FINISHED! We should have it posted on the website very soon, and you all will also be receiving your very own copy in the mail! We can't wait for you all to see it!

And if the DVD doesn't get you into the spirit of camp, perhaps this classic holiday poem with a Green Cove twist will:

"Twas the Night Before Green Cove"

Twas the Night before Green Cove and all through the Camp,

not a creature was stirring, except maybe the gnats

All the names tags were hung, on cabin doors with care

with hopes that all the GC girls will soon be there

All the counselors were nestled all snug in their beds,

while visions of Mike and Richard's cookies danced in their heads,

Nancy at her computer and I at my desk,

had just settled in for the fun summer's task.

When out on the ball diamond there came such a clatter,

I sprung from my chair to see what was the matter!

Away from my desk, in a flash I flew,

Tore open the door, and tried to remain cool

When what to my wondering eyes did appear,

but eight miniature campers, all loaded with gear.

And their driver, with a smile as big as the come,

I knew in a moment she was a Green Cove Alum

They unloaded quickly as soon as they came,

and giggle and laughed while she called them by name:

"Now Sydney, Now Marie, Now Anna and Sarah,

Now Jane and Susie, Now Liza and Clara!

Go bike up to Oties or climb up the wall,

camp away, camp away, camp away all!"

She was dressed in camp attire, from her head to her skirt,

And her clothes were all tarnished with ashes and dirt.

All her camping supplies just throwing in her pack,

maybe a paddler or going to do some horseback

Her eyes how they twinkled, Her Dimples- How merry!

Her hair was so red, like the barn manager Carrie's

Her sweet little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

to show off her teeth as white as the snow!

She spoke not a word, she went straight to work

packing and hauling trunks, all with a smirk

And after hugging each of the 8 little campers

Her eyes appeared just a little bit damper,

she then sprang to her car, telling her girls to behave

and as she drove down the road, to each gave a wave

I heard her exclaim, as she drove out of sight,

“Happy Camping to all, and to all a good-night.”

We hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and we will see you in 2012!!
